Purpose

The Nord Agency was founded to bring sustainable classic high-end Scandinavian furniture to Australia and New Zealand. Brands which are not only popular but are at the forefront of classic design and sustainability processes are thriving in Scandinavia and yet in Australia and New Zealand, are not known. We want to provide the local design community with an opportunity to incorporate these designs into projects and to spread the message about the benefits of furniture which has been built to last.

Values

AUTHENTICITY
We celebrate designers and the value their unique creations provide to the design industry. We only represent original and authentic products ensuring our customers experience beautiful pieces exactly as intended by those who created them.

EDUCATION
Not only do we foster our team’s personal development and personal growth, we want to further access to education of original design and sustainability in our industry. We do this through our ongoing partnership with the ADA and initiatives with our retail partners.

We are also a member of the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation. A national charity assisting people in our most marginalised communities to gain vital language, literacy and communication skills. ALNF’s specialised and innovative programs address the needs of a diverse range of individuals and communities – specifically targeting First Nations, refugee and other vulnerable Australians.

 

CONSERVATION
We financially support the growth of the Skagerak forest in Denmark. A new sustainable initiative with the first tree being planted in June 2021, to help Skagerak achieve NetZero by 2030. Closer to home we support the WWF in their ‘Adopt A Tree’ program. For information on this wonderful program click here.

 

ADA ALIGNED
As members of the ADA we are commited to the fight against furniture design theft in Australia. We campaign for improved Intellectual Property (IP) protection for furnishings and create awareness about why we must ‘buy well, buy once’.

 

PASSION 
Passion drives us. It is at the core of everything we do and it drives us to overcome obstacles, improve our work and to cultivate lasting change in the industry as a whole.
